Practice Newsletters

Telephone Lines

Royton & Crompton Family Practice is aware of the difficulties that patients are experiencing when contacting the surgery via telephone.  Prior to the merger we had six telephone lines, (four at Royton & Crompton and two at The Parks).   We are pleased to advise that all incoming telephone lines are now fully operational once again but due to increased patient calls we are finding the lines to be taken up and therefore we are now experiencing further delays with engaged lines, we can only apologize for these further delays.

We have also contacted Oldham CCG with regard to further improvements being made in future; the ability to select extension a patient requires i.e. Prescriptions, Secretarial, Results or appointments etc.  These measures will further reduce waiting times for patients to speak with the correct department and we have been informed the start dates on the new system will be around the 23rd September.

Practice GP’s

Patients may be already aware that Dr Rakesh Kohli has now retired from the practice.  As such, we are actively recruiting two full time permanent GP’s.  In the interim, we have also replaced Dr R Kohli with a long term locum GP.

Online Patient Access

We are aware that a number of patients have experienced difficulty when trying to order their repeat prescription via patient access.  Patients whom are currently having difficulty accessing this service should email, to request a new pin number to enable them to re-register their access.

Moving forwards

In the early days of the pandemic, there was a reduction in phone calls to the surgery due to coronavirus, however; in recent weeks we have seen a vast increase in patients contacting the surgery again.  Concurrently, we have also experienced an increase in patient contact due to the merger of the two practices.  We apologise for any delay incurred and thank our patients for their kind patience and support during this transitional period.
