Doctors Surgeries

Doctor’s morning surgeries start between 07:30am and 09:30am depending on the doctor concerned. They typically run for 2 or 3 hours, again depending on the doctor in question.

Evening surgeries generally start between 15:30pm and 16:30pm and are slightly shorter than morning surgeries.

Monday to Friday there are some surgeries running during the lunchtime/early afternoon period also.

The Practice is part of a Federation that offers evening and weekend appointments from 6.30pm - 8.00pm Monday to Friday and 10.00am - 2.00pm Saturday and Sunday.  Some of these appointments are available at Royton, but others may be at the ICC (Integrated Care Centre) in Oldham Town Centre.  To book an appointment ring 0161 934 2827.

During morning and afternoon surgeries the Doctors also carry out their other duties such as: Telephone consultations, home visits, paperwork such as authorising prescriptions, and patient referrals.

On the 1st or 2nd Thursday of every month the practice closes at 1.00pm until the following morning at 7.30am (8am for phones).  During this time the Walk In Centre is available or for emergency calls ring the surgery number to be connected to the Emergency Out of Hours GP.

Prescription Collections

We request that patients do not attend to collect prescriptions before 08:00 in the morning and after 18:30 in the evening (18:15 on Fridays).

The practice nursing staff and healthcare assistants run clinics at various times in the day and we suggest you contact Reception for more details. This also applies to phlebotomy (blood sample-taking) clinics.
